Update: Freeze Dried Raw Product

On June 12, 2009, Nature’s Variety announced we had withdrawn from commerce two lots of Freeze Dried product that did not meet our quality standards. These products never presented a health risk to pets or people.

Nature’s Variety decided to withdraw the two lots from commerce because of a product handling issue that occurred with a co-packer that created a gap in the products’ chain of custody.  The specific lots that we withdrew are:

• Freeze Dried Raw Chicken Formula (UPC # 69949 60151) with a “best if used by” date of 05/25/10 
• Freeze Dried Raw Beef Formula (UPC # 69949 60251) with a “best if used by” date of 05/25/10

No other products beyond these two lots were affected by this situation. There was no safety risk at any time. Our own quality control standards led us to withdraw these two lots.
